Radisson Hotel Salt Lake
City Downtown is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just
minutes from Energy Solutions Arena and Temple Square. This beautiful
property features 381 guest rooms and 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
Radisson SLC Downtown is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Catering
to maximize hotel revenue by leading Catering team efforts to seek out,
identify, and secure hotel group and catering business. The responsibilities
of this position include but are not limited to: --Participates in the development of catering sales and marketing strategies --Participates in the development of Catering forecast and budget --Develops and implements strategies for achieving catering sales goals --Achieves catering sales goals by developing ad implementing sales strategies --Contacts potential business in the local banquet market through appointments or cold calls --Contacts group business to determine catering needs --Clarifies customer requirements and suggests alternative menus, themes, etc. --Prepares proposals for client with outline details of proposed functions; coordinates preparation of estimates with other food and beverage departments --Negotiates sales of catering sales functions --Provides leadership to Catering Sales Manager and Executive Meeting Manager | |

Key Skills and Requirements:
--Prior management experience in HOTEL Sales and Catering --Excellent business communication skills --Ability to use results-oriented writing techniques and strategies for correspondence (e.g. memos, letters, reports, proposals, etc.) with correct grammar and punctuation --Ability to maximize impact, maintain interest, and establish a rapport with an audience when conveying information --Ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources and time --Understand the positioning of the hotel, services provided, and knowledge of how the hotel can meet the needs of customers and be capable of closing business --Exceptional negotiation skills, a must. Must understand the cost/benefits of prospective business and vendor contracts and negotiate contracts which result in mutually beneficial outcomes. --Understand the strategic positioning of the hotel and how the products and services offered compare within the competitive market for targeted market segments. | |
