| Position Description |
Direct all phases of the housekeeping department's responsibilities and
operations in order to continuously conform to quality standards of
cleanliness, orderliness and attractiveness. Ensures the cleanliness of
the guest rooms, public areas and back of the house excluding kitchen
areas. Supervises all Housekeeping areas to ensure they operate in a
smooth and efficient manner. Controls the upkeep of all furniture and
fixtures. RESPONSIBILITIES: *Interviews, hires, orients and disciplines employees. *Conducts inspections of all resort areas and corrects as necessary. . *Updates departmental job descriptions for each job category as necessary. *Controls, requests and purchases all guest room and other supplies in order to maintain established par levels. *Keeps records of any linen inventory. *Ensures Lost and Found procedures are properly followed *Sets up and maintains an ongoing training program for all job functions. *Meets with guests and owners to handle complaints and requests. *Effectively controls Housekeeping budget and labor costs. *Maintains close contact with outside contractors. *Maintains goodwill, sense of fairness and an open door policy towards employees. *Frequently tests new products and material to find better ways to do the job. *Ensures maintenance of all machinery used in the department. *Coordinates with Engineering a preventative maintenance schedule to avoid break down. *Stays in contact with other department heads and management. *Creates a positive guest and owner experience. *Other duties as assigned. | |
