Position Description


Direct Sales Efforts:

              Proper candidate will be motivated and driven, with the ability to work in a multi-task environment and adapt to the current job demands

              Work collaboratively with other sales team members to ensure sales efforts are coordinated.  Brain storm with the team on how to generate new business, and penetrate/saturate current accounts.

              Implement process improvements and best practices through leading the weekly sales meeting

              Responsible for monitoring and motivating sales team to achieve their monthly sales goal in Telenotes

              Bi-Monthly conduct Contact Point Coaching Calls with the sales team of Salt Lake City and Ogden

              Plan and execute effective Sales Blitz and/or Customer Events. 

              Conduct yearly annual reviews with each member of the sales team

              Hire, Train, Discipline, and Terminate employees in the Sales Department

              Ensure quarterly action plans and bonus goals are accurate and timely from each sales member

              Work with General Managers, Revenue Manager, and Regional team to establish yearly budgets and work through the year to achieve and exceed those budget expectations

              Manage the Sales Expenses for each individual hotel through monthly P&L statements provided by the GMs

              Make certain policies and procedures in the employee handbook are followed and maintained

              Ensure business booked is within the hotels goals. Close the best opportunities for each property based on market conditions and individual property needs

              Drive customer loyalty through excellent customer service throughout the leadership of the hotel management. Work with operations and sales team in regards to the hotel brands guest survey scores.  Give input and help execute standards to improve hotels ratings.

              Effectively leverage other Sales Office resources and administrative/support staff to achieve personal and team related revenue goals.

              Meet monthly with LDHG Regional to discuss hotel and teams strengths and areas of opportunity

              Shadow monthly sales calls and cold calls with each member of the sales team

              Manage all sales expenses through monthly monitoring of the sales team through expense reports


              Marketing & eCommerce: 

              Maintain each hotels webpage through brands designated channels

              Research marketing opportunities for the market and brands

              Make sure Travel Clicks is being utilized to actively find new accounts and gain market share

              Work with operations team on Trip Advisor reviews and rankings

              Schedule and be responsible for hotel photos shoot.  Ensure that photos have General Managers approval before using for advertising of website purposes.

              Network and build relationships between SLCVB, Chamber, and other key influences in the hospitality industry

              Consistently access Rate360 to manage rates effectively for Hyatt House

              Account Management:

              Manage all RFPs for national accounts through MarRFP or Lanyon

              Revenue Management

              Conduct weekly meetings with Revenue Management Team to strategize hotels restrictions, group pick ups, pricing, and any additional tasks assigned by the Revenue Manager or General Manager.

              Utilize Revenue Management Team when analyzing group and lnr business that is outside the standard parameters for the hotel

              Provide revenue management with timeframe of high demand times, specifically starting rates and restrictions that should be in place.

              Conduct regular rate codes audits and report back to Revenue Management

              Brand Knowledge:

              Absolute knowledge of each individual hotels brand standard, rewards programs, price strategies,  and position in the brands portfolio

              Understanding the hotels place in the market, in relation to comp set and demand generators

              Have a working knowledge and represent brand initiatives/culture to properties

              Ability to maneuver through all properties PMS and reservation systems.

              Additional Requirement:

              Must have a reliable form of transportation

              a minimum of 5 years hospitality sales is required

              experience in leading a successful sales team preferred

              Perform other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

              Ability to maintain flexible/extended work hours as needed by job demand functions (ie  after hour networking events, etc)

              Minimal travel may be required
