Mountain School Manger – Systems and Payroll (salaried for 10 months of year – on call after for remainder of year)

Under the direction of Mountain School Asst. Director, Admin & Sales

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Establishes software parameters and seasonal changeover and updates. (POS, Flaik, RTP Cognito Forms)
  • Works with other department managers, supervisors, and staff to educate on processes for software.
  • Maintains staff records in multiple databases. (POS, Payroll, PSIA, RTP, Mindflash)
  • Develop project timelines and scheduling calendars, gathering content and input from internal clients, proofreading and overseeing material distribution strategies
  • Responsible to process all Mountain School related invoices, expense reports and reimbursements
  • Records data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports. Contributes to the communications, implementations, and scheduling of job activities.
  • Maintains daily records for payroll and all associated payroll functions (PANS, Exits, Bi-weekly Payroll)
  • Manage on line sales software

  • Frequent contact with guest
  • Primary contact with co-workers, management, and other departments
  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guest and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with other departments at Snowbird
  • Must conduct oneself in a professional manner when communicating with others by phone, email, in person

Education & Experience Requirements  

  • 3-5 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • College degree in related field.

Specific Requirements

  • Requires task specific or specialized training such as computer software setup and maintenance.
  • Background in accounting, payroll.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Office, Snowsports Management and Sales software.
  • Must be on site 5 days a week while working.

  • Maintain a high level of productivity without direct supervision.
  • Requires exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to focus for extended periods of time on daily work.
  • Must be able to work with others to resolve problems and be able to see problems from others perspective.
  • Corresponds with management on an individual basis to resolve problems and concerns.
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail. Self-starter, ambitious, and a multi-tasker.
  • Must be organized, be a good communicator, be able to effectively collaborate with team members, and be able organize workflow.
  • Maintains a high degree of flexibility to assist with a variety of special projects.
  • Ability to organize and follow through on assignments and tasks. Self-motivated and work well with limited direct supervision. General knowledge of resort operations and business requirements.
  • Position requires ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

Work Schedule

  • Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business level.
  • Must be able to work on site at Millrock offices or resort location
  • Occasional work with sales team when needed

Working Conditions

  • Work may subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult.
  • Requires origination of new techniques, establishment of criteria, or research and development of new information.
  • Decisions regarding action include major areas of uncertainty in approach, methodology, or interpretation and evaluation of process resulting from such elements of continuing changes in program, technological developments, unknown phenomena, or conflicting requirements.
