Job Overview

Summit Events is a full-service Destination Management Company (DMC) operating in Park City and Salt Lake City, UT. As a growing company, we are seeking a qualified professional to manage the flow of new business and our client proposal needs.

 Program Manager

  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Rate/Salary: 75,000/year.  Health, vision, and dental benefits are available.
  • Reports to: Dir. of Operations and GM
  • Location: Park City Office (Prospector)
    • Following Orientation, may be eligible to work remotely for part of the work week.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and oversee the operation of client programs and events for Summit Events
  • Complete project timeline; establishes a workflow schedule, facilitate prompt and accurate handling of all program details
  • Liaise between the client and vendors as it relates to all aspects of programs/events – including food and beverage, activities, transportation, and décor
  • Manage and negotiate some vendor contracts
  • Coordinate all program details and produces a resume that outlines all program specifics and requirements
  • Manage overall program budget, initiate supplier payments, overall program profitability, client invoices, and project change orders
  • Day-to-day client contact; works closely with the client to ensure program objectives are well executed
  • Will be asked to work some nights and weekends based on the event/program schedule. Some travel opportunities will be made available should you wish to participate
  • From time to time, you will be asked to assist with administrative tasks that include but are not limited to client invoicing, estimated costing’s, proposal development, courtesy holds, and some misc. office administrative duties.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications                                                                            

  • Experience in hospitality and event planning or related field.
  • Advanced oral and written skills required
  •  Ability to manage program/event budgets
  • Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Valid driver’s license, cell phone, and own vehicle
  • Estimated program line item costing documents
  • Help develop and maintain strategic partnerships with existing Summit Events clients, company affiliations, associations, local businesses, and visitor/chamber bureaus
  • Attempts made with each client or potential client to promote the DMC Network with a goal towards lead generation amongst our network of DMCs
  • Occasional site inspections and “on-site” operational presence outside of regular business hours

 

Program Manager must possess and continually refine the following skills:

  •  Time management and effective communication with team members, clients, vendors, and industry partners with a high level of tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required to produce clear communications
  • Ability to manage and organize projects from inception to completion resulting in the execution of successful events
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities
  • Strong ability and willingness to work in a team environment
