Job Overview

Zermatt Utah Resort & Spa, located in Midway, Utah, is seeking a Director of Rooms to join our team! The Director of Rooms will be responsible to lead a team of empowered individuals in the Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, Bell/Shuttle, and Pool operations. This person will be responsible to implement and refine guest service policies and protocol consistent with the resort’s service standards. Other responsibilities of this position will include ensuring the highest level of service for all guests; working with the ProMax team to evaluate room rates and review marketing initiatives; maintaining expenses of the operational departments in line with budgets and forecasts; analyzing & reporting on budgets, payroll expenses, and revenue; maintaining the integrity of records in the computer systems and in Opera PMS, along with guest preferences and special requests; communicating appropriate information to team members; handling & resolving major guest complaints & guest incidents and empowering the team to do the same, organizing staff meetings; overseeing the hiring, training, evaluating and mentoring of the team; recommending repairs and improvements in guest rooms that align with resort standards; and implementing initiatives aimed at delighting guests. As a member of the Executive Team this position will coordinate with all departments to ensure a smooth operation across the entire resort and to make and analyze decisions affecting its direction.

This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years job-related experience in a similar position or a combination of Front Desk management, Reservations Management and Housekeeping Management experience. Must possess the flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour a day operation, as needed. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Zermatt Utah is associated with 3 Homeowners Associations. Basic HOA knowledge is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal & written communication skills, leadership skills and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
