Job Overview

All technical and non-technical buildings and grounds repairs.  Troubleshooting and/or repairs of all electrically ran motors and devices.  Troubleshooting and/or repair of all H.V.A.C systems including, refrigeration devices, minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor automotive repairs. Completion of all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Technical electrical motor troubleshooting and/or repair
  2. H.V.A.C. and refrigeration troubleshooting and/or repair
  3. Technical plumbing troubleshooting and/or repair
  4. Minor Carpentry
  5. Organization of tools and parts
  6. Safely filling propane tanks
  7. Door lock repairs
  8. Leave all work in a safe and clean condition
  9. Use of all power tools safely, including pressure washers and compressors
  10. Gas fired equipment repair
  11. Troubleshooting and/or repair of electronic equipment to include all office and audio visual equipment
  12. Respond to all Guest Requests within fifteen-minutes of notification
  13. Respond to all priority work orders within ten-minutes of notification
  14. Respond to all emergency or life threatening situations
  15. Follow established safety procedures
  16. Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logbook
  17. Move various objects for relocation and/or access
  18. Assist other maintenance personnel with their job functions
  19. Performs other duties as assigned
  20. Maintain complete knowledge of resort fire system, well water system, septic system, and irrigation system
  21. Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Solage program.

 

Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  1. Minimum of five years hands on experience with electrical motors, H.V.A.C. systems, and refrigeration systems.  Must be familiar with troubleshooting and/or repairs of such
  2. Experience with power tools use and safety
  3. Able to do basic arithmetic
  4. Ability to follow verbal instruction
  5. Ability to read and follow directions on warning labels
  6. Ability to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture
  7. Ability to provide legible written communication
  8. Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-worker, and management to understanding
  9. High school diploma or equivalent
  10. Valid California drivers license
  11. Desirable
  12. Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish
  13. Apprenticeship as electrician or H.V.A.C. technician
  14. Previous resort experience

  24. Ability to maintain good co-ordination
  25. Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces
  26. Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ropes, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or arms.  Body agility is emphasized
  27. Ability to crawl on hands and knees or hands and feet
  28. Ability to bend downward and forward by bending legs and spine
  29. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as making fine adjustments on machinery
  30. Ability to grasp an object with fingers and palm
  31. Ability to grasp an object with fingers and palm
  32. Ability to tilt head back in order to see objects overhead for up to five minutes at a time
  33. Ability to lift heavy objects from a lower to a higher position
  34. Ability to extend arms and hands in any direction
