Job Overview
Zermatt Utah Resort & Spa, located in the beautiful mountain town of Midway, Utah, is seeking an experienced, dedicated Food & Beverage Manager to oversee and manage the Resort Food and Beverage outlet(s) and banquet events department by ensuring a branded and consistent product while maximizing profitability and creating an inspiring hospitality experience for the guest.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for managing, coaching and developing all front of house staff
- Able to write schedules based upon business needs and requirements
- Understands and can articulate proper protocols in restaurants and in the meetings and banquet event environment
- Develop and implement a business plan for the food and beverage department
- Manage food and beverage front of house operations to ensure quality service standards
- Establish and maintain training procedures and manuals for the front of house operations
- Determine short- and long-term capital expenditure needs
- Establish goals and developmental programs for increasing revenue
- Ensure staff follow all state and county food/alcohol service procedures
- Maintain up to date and accurate records of licenses/permits for service staff
- Problem solving and addressing issues immediately
- Consulting and communicating with the culinary team daily
- Ensuring front of house and back of house teams work together as a cohesive team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Request minimum 3 years’ experience in food and beverage/restaurant supervisory and/or management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Proven self-starter (confident) and driven
- Intermediate understanding of F&B/restaurant financials, scheduling and cost controls
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist and reach for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs
- Utah Food Handler and Alcohol Server Permit Required (21 years+)
- Knowledgeable and proficient in food and beverage laws/regulations for the State of Utah
The Hotel functions seven days a week and 24-hours a day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize, at times, it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift so support business demands.
