$500 Sign-On Bonus! The House Person position works for the University Guest House in the historic Fort Douglas area on the University of Utah Campus, starting wage $15/hr.
This is an entry level position and cleans common areas of hotel & meeting spaces to ensure a clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Will clean guest rooms if needed. This job requires a mandatory background check which is paid for by the department. While employed at the U of U, employees receive the benefit of a free Trax/UTA pass. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job:
- Ability to prioritize and change course of action quickly, being flexible.
- Positive attitude and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Provides outstanding guest service.
- Vacuums, cleans, mops, scrubs and dusts.
- Cleans hotel common areas including restrooms.
- Dusts, cleans and vacuums furniture, fixtures, doors and related furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies.
- Uses floor equipment including extractor, buffer and other machines.
- Cleans carpets and empties rash.
- Performs other House Person duties per Supervisor’s and Manager’s direction.
Preferences: Previous hotel and/or custodial experience preferred. Must be available any day of the week; days and hours may vary, depending on hotel occupancy.
