Job Overview
The Custodian is an entry level position, starting at $15/hr. This Housekeeping position will work at the Thomas S. Monson Center, a Conference Center in Salt Lake City, under the direction of the University of Utah Guest House & Conference Services. The Thomas S. Monson Center is a historical building and serves as an embassy for the University of Utah downtown and as a community world class venue for university functions as well as private functions. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for cleaning common areas of the center, meeting spaces, and offices to ensure a clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
A successful background check is required, which is paid for by the department. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.
Preferences:
- Six months of related experience is preferred.
- Housekeeping and/or custodial experience preferred.
- Must be professional and have excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate in English is required.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job:
- Cleans all aspects of the Thomas S. Monson Center, to provide clean and presentable meeting spaces, offices, common areas including restrooms.
- Keeps inventory of cleaning supplies needed, organizes and maintains custodial supplies and closet(s).
- The Housekeeper at the Thomas S. Monson Center must be professional and have good customer service.
