Work and play up in the mountains! Snowbird is looking for a plumber who wants to work in one of the most picturesque destinations in Utah. As a Plumber at Snowbird, you will maintain and repair equipment related to plumbing. You will also work with and assist other team members to maintain/repair building systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintains and repairs all plumbing equipment such as drains and pipes. Repairs a variety of equipment (i.e. exchangers, boiler equipment, kitchen equipment, water pumps, pressure valves, steam generators, etc.)
  • Installs new plumbing and equipment for renovation and remodeling projects.
  • Repairs mechanical equipment when necessary.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of all equipment used.
  • Requires exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.
  • Order parts and prepares completed work orders. Determines needed parts. Research pricing information in catalogues, prepares requisitions and delivers to supervisor.
  • Plumbing material shall be installed to code, and with the safety of the guest in mind.
  • Works with apprentice plumbers in order to maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Makes decisions involving safety and welfare of apprentices.
  • Follows safe practices on the job or while on Snowbird property, and abides by all rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Must have a Utah Journeyman or Master Plumbing License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 4 years job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Requires plumbing and mechanical skills along with the ability to trouble shoot and repair problems to meet code requirements.
  • Reading plumbing plans.
  • Reports all safety hazards or concerns to a supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Must be familiar with the safe and proper use of equipment including tools, solvents and chemicals used at the resort.
  • Intermediate ski or snowboard ability is preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Flexible schedules, generally from 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Position requires emergency call out (paid extra per call out).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
  • Work is subject to some interruptions, outdoor work in all weather conditions, noise and dirt.  Physical activity includes the ability to lift 100 lbs., frequent bending, and stooping, crouching and extensive muscle exertion.
  • May be required to ski/board or ride lift to mid-mountain lodge.
  • Required to use hand and power tools normally use by building mechanics.
  • Operates plumbing equipment such as drain snakes, pipe threading and cutting machines.
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly with team and use handheld radio, work alone and with other employees. Occasional stress from deadlines and customer department demands for equipment repairs and maintenance. May experience stress from the commute to Snowbird, road closures and snow nights.
  • Travel between lodges and various areas at Snowbird. Occasionally travels to the Salt Lake Valley to pick up parts.
  • Occasional contact with guests.
