Job Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is part of the Maintenance Team, supervising Maintenance Helpers and assisting with maintaining the hotel and conference facilities.

Qualifications:

Two years experience with building systems control or related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated knowledge of automated and computer-directed building systems, plumbing and electrical systems and pneumatic and electronic control systems; familiarity with heating and air conditioning systems; a working knowledge and understanding of mechanical equipment, automation and field hardware and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Must have valid driver’s license. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Supervisor demonstrates the ability to prioritize and change course of action quickly, being flexible. Positive attitude and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Provides outstanding guest service. Supervises Maintenance Helpers, assigning work orders and other tasks that arise in the hotel and conference center. Schedules staff hours and approves Maintenance Department Kronos. Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance and related tools; the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb step ladders/scaffolding; and, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Performs routine maintenance including minor carpentry repair work, lock changes, and electrical work. Paints walls, doors, and other exposed surfaces as necessary. Works closely with Management to ensure the hotel and conference facilities are maintained. Conducts routine checks on machinery to determine maintenance required for proper operation. Transports supplies and equipment as needed. Assists in maintaining tools and equipment. Monitors equipment; responds to alarms and ensures continued uninterrupted service, notifies appropriate department personnel and/or vendors when repairs are necessary; assists in making repairs or switching to back-up systems when required. Responds to electrical power outages and other emergencies and works to restore services to assigned buildings through appropriate shops. Responds to trouble reports from building occupants and coordinates repair activities. Coordinates regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment. Helps assure a high level of quality control on work performed in and to the buildings.

Preferences:

Maintenance and customer service experience required. Supervisor experience preferred. Must be professional.
