We are seeking an experienced & skilled Security Officer / Preventative Maintenance Technician to fill a part-time position at Zermatt Utah covering the graveyard shift from 10:30pm-7am. This person will be responsible for assisting our guests with any guest room maintenance issues, such as plumbing, lighting, electrical issues, etc., as well as assisting both guests and staff with security-related issues during the 10:30pm-7am shift. The Security Officer / Preventative Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for assisting with monitoring & maintaining building equipment & structures, with a primary focus on both preventative maintenance and resort security.

The key roles of this position are to ensure the safety & security of our guests, staff & property during the graveyard shift, and to perform preventative & general maintenance in guest rooms including repairing malfunctioning HVAC units, mechanical devices, electrical wiring, plumbing, etc. Essential functions of this position will include (but are not limited to) troubleshooting equipment issues using proper tools in a skilled manner, performing engineering/maintenance repair work for guests, completing various maintenance & security projects as directed by the Director of Engineering, completing mechanic functions when required, and ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, property and grounds during the graveyard shift. Other essential functions include light carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, electrical work, painting, HVAC, room inspections, pool & spa maintenance tasks, as well as general guest service.

This position requires a minimum of 1-3 years maintenance experience, as well as prior experience working as a Security Guard or in an equivalent security-related capacity. Hotel/resort/commercial maintenance experience strongly preferred. Must be able to stand, bend, walk, lift, push & pull for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position in an efficient, skillful, professional manner. Must be able to multi-task & manage multiple projects at one time, and strong guest/customer-service skills are a must. Experience in the field of security/safety is required, as well as is basic knowledge of fire alarm, first aid & other emergency procedures. Must have a flexible schedule & be willing & able to work the graveyard shift from 10:30pm-7am, Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Must have a valid driver’s license, pass a criminal background check & acceptable MVR record. First Aid, fire safety, CPO, and other plumbing, electrical, safety, and/or construction certifications are a plus.
