Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide a smooth skiing surface and consistent snow density and distribution in order to enhance the guests’ enjoyment and to maximize their safety.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Competently and conscientiously perform the required vehicle and equipment inspections and servicing, and to record results accurately and completely
- Successfully execute assignments effectively and efficiently without direct supervision
- Provide effective guidance to other operators when designated to lead a group assignment
- Successfully execute specialized assignments: i.e., maze and ramp work, special plow jobs, skier access, winch operations, etc.
- Effectively participate in project related decision making and to be supportive of the ultimate solutions
- Possess the ability to coordinate one’s grooming techniques with those of others during group projects
- Assist in the training and development of other operators
- Exhibit a continuous effort to increase one’s grooming effectiveness and efficiency
- Safely operate any grooming equipment
- Consistently provide above average or better product using any of Deer Valley’s grooming equipment on all resort terrain
- Demonstrate complete familiarity with Deer Valley’s terrain and travel routes
- Quickly and accurately identify problems with the projects or equipment and offer appropriate solutions or alternatives
- Assist mechanics or co-workers with minor repairs and equipment changes
- Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities
- Exhibit professional conduct and proper radio etiquette
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced grooming skills in the use of all Deer Valley grooming equipment on all terrain
- Good operational and mechanical knowledge of all Deer Valley grooming equipment
- Complete familiarity with Deer Valley’s terrain
- An advanced understanding of grooming routes, objectives and techniques
- Safety conscious
- Receptive and responsible to instruction
- Ability to work well with others
- Good communication skills
- Dependable
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
No special uniform required. Winter coat/gloves/hat/boots needed. Must meet all Deer Valley dress standards.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Must be willing to work swing and grave yard shifts
- Must be able to provide and carry a basic tool kit to include a small and large channel locks to adjust all fitting sizes, heavy duty dikes and flashlight (adjustable wrench advisable as well)
- Must have reliable transportation for extreme conditions
