Job Overview

Responsible for the function of the Human Resources Department and supervision of the Human Resources team members. Human Resources functions include: training and staff development, employment, recruitment, team member relations, benefits, compensation, counseling, legal compliance, labor relations, administrative functions, safety, budget development, and policy and procedure development and compliance.

  • Ensures the properties are staffed with well-trained, friendly and motivated team members
  • Plans recruiting strategies in line with operational needs
  • Controls recruiting costs by promoting from within, networking local labor markets
  • Develops application, interviewing and hiring procedures that ensure the most qualified individuals are hired
  • Analyzes turnover, exit interviews and attitude surveys to reduce team member turnover
  • Analyzes existing training programs and develops new programs to ensure that team members are well trained
  • Analyzes training needs from both customer and management perspectives
  • Develops and conducts training programs that address training needs
  • Collaborates with the Loss Prevention department on quality safety programs
  • Directs all Human Resources administrative systems and processes
  • Oversees and directs workers compensation and accident reporting procedures
  • Oversees drug testing program
  • Ensures that all performance correction measures are fair, consistent, legal, and are in alignment with Stein Collection policies and procedures
  • Behaves as counselor, mediator and advisor to team members and management
  • Directs 401K administration and participates as a 401(k) Advisory Committee member
  • Directs profit sharing administration
  • Creates cost effective team member events, programs and recognition systems that increase morale
  • Directs tenure awards program
  • Maintains a competitive cost effective benefits program
  • Creates a fair, cost effective evaluation/compensation process
  • Develops policies and procedures based on operational and legal guidelines
  • Maintains a current team member handbook
  • Maintains current team member benefit handbooks
  • Maintains knowledge of current legal requirements and trends and ensures that employer practices comply with legal requirements
  • Ensures cleanliness, quality of food and environment of the team member dining room meet team member expectations
  • Through the Human Resources function promotes the quality of the Stein Collection product
  • Participates actively on the Executive Committee by representing Human Resources issues
  • Plans and directs Human Resources events such as parties, picnics, staff appreciation day, general meetings, team member outings, etc.
  • Maintains an organized, clean Human Resources office at all times
  • Provides support to Human Resources staff members
  • Provides support to all Stein Collection team members
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Skills required:

 Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, (Microsoft work, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)

Competency with Access database software

Five years experience working in Human Resources at the VP or Director level

Luxury hotel experience preferred

Proficient training ability and skills

Proficiency in the Human Resources field, specifically in the areas of function stated in this job description
