Job Overview
Wellness Supervisor  is responsible for overseeing and supervising the work Wellness Team  along with overseeing day to day operations of The Edge Spa to include front desk coverage, all MOD responsibilities, motivating wellness  teams to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations.   Wellness Supervisor ensures a smooth flow of business and a high level of guest satisfaction, being present on the floor consistently. The Wellness Supervisor assigns work, reconciles discrepancies, updates manuals, and improves procedures and protocols for the Wellness team.  Wellness supervisor assists spa managers with building strong wellness programs /wellness events/retreats and is in charge of overseeing all wellness related events

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  •  Manage and supervise the team of Wellness Providers  to ensure a smooth flow of business and a high level of guest satisfaction. 
  • Be present in the spa with guests and staff throughout each day ensuring all standards are met and expectations are exceeded. Coach and mentor wellness team to provide consistent and outstanding service.
  • Creates a team of  providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands.
  • Maintains a fully staffed facility by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training all wellness providers team.
  • Ensures the spa team of service providers is fully knowledgeable on the use and benefits of the wellness services and programs, and activities by conducting regularly scheduled team meetings and training workshops and vice versa- wellness team is fully trained on all spa services.
  • Responsible for all the functions of MOD (manager on duty) including overseeing the spa when needed, covering shifts and classes, working weekends and holidays
  • Ensure all spa operational procedures are followed so the spa runs with maximum efficiency and minimal shrinkage and waste.
  • Ensure standards for quality customer service, health and safety policies are met and monitoring instructors/wellness providers performance.
  • Responsible for the Wellness Team are well-trained on job responsibilities and are provided with the tools necessary to effectively perform and succeed in their jobs. All new hires must be trained in all protocols and procedures to ensure they meet standards.
  • Work closely with the Spa Manager  to help develop local contacts and schedule spa and wellness events to grow the spa database and spa local awareness; be the on-site contact when the event takes place.
  • Participate in the Unifocus program by recording guest comments and responding accordingly.
  • Follow up promptly with Spa Manager on all comments, concerns and suggestions made by The Edge Spa guests, members and staff.
  • Lead by example. Provide fair and consistent leadership.
  • Oversee the weekly schedule for the Wellness Team. 
  • Continually strive to improve procedures and protocols.
  • Work with Spa Manager to complete and present team member reviews by review date.
  • Document any team member disciplinary issues in accordance with The Edge Spa standards.
  • Address complaints and resolve guest and associate problems in the absence of a Spa manager.
  • Attend all spa meetings, training sessions, and resort meetings as scheduled.
  • Schedule meetings and training sessions for the Wellness team and ensure their attendance. 
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a standard of excellence in professional image and service.
  • Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Participate in and support  company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives.
  • Create, implement and monitor Wellness programs at The Lodge at Blue Sky programs and ensure that monthly spa financial objectives are met.
  • Willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Perform other duties not listed here as directed, developed or assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

  1. 3-5 years managing/supervising experience required, experience in the spa or health environment strongly preferred.
  2. Experience managing wellness teams, delegating and monitoring their work.
  3. Must be responsive and have a strong sense of urgency.
  4. Demonstrated versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  5. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize projects and workflow.
  6. Excellent eye for detail and ability to multitask.
  7. Experience training, coaching and counseling associates on procedures and protocol.
  8. Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings.
  9. Ability to work as a team and work independently.

Desirable

  1. Knowledge of local culture and activities.
  2. Yoga/Personal Training Licenses

  • Must have ability to stay poised under pressure in a fast paced, high volume spa

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property. 
  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. 
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time. 
  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently 
  • Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach. 
  • Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to the general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
