Job Overview
As a Banquet Server at Snowbird, you will be working under the direction of the Conference Operations Management Team. You will serve food and beverages to guests according to the Banquet Event Orders. You will be working on a variety of events including continental breakfast, coffee service, lunch, dinner, receptions, and cash food events. You will work on both the set up and break-down of event spaces, clean and maintain areas of the event facilities inside and outside where banquet functions take place. In addition, you will work closely and collaboratively with all food and beverage operations at the resort as well as the resort sales team and group services.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Service food and beverage to guests that exceeds their expectations and follows the standards of the department.
- Setup and tear down of event according to Banquet Event Order.
- Service of alcoholic beverages while monitoring guest consumption
- Arrange tables, chairs, water services, etc. for meetings, meal functions, and special events according to the Banquet Event Orders.
- Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
- Monitor assets of Snowbird by proper breakdown of events, puts away unused requisitions, takes dirty equipment and linen to proper locations.
- Know proper food items and temperature of such items for each event by reading Banquet Event Order and consulting with Captain.
- Complete assigned side work.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Food safety, wine service, alcohol service. Utah Food Handlers Permit and alcohol service certifications required.
- Ability to apply basic math skills when setting up a room as well as cashier skills.
- Must have the ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage, and disposal of sensitive information. Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager, or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.
- This position requires knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guests/customers.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Shifts vary, maybe early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
- Irregular shifts and hours due to the nature of the conference business.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, in the event of road closures.
- May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to and from Snowbird.
- Work may be outdoors and requires exposure to cold or heat and other weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to carry trays, transport chairs and tables, and other items needed for events.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to navigate outdoor spaces and move in between buildings while dealing with all the hazards and weather that are present in a mountain environment.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
