Job Overview
First Lift Coffee (located inside Compass Rose Lodge) is seeking a Cafe Manager. This individual is responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day operations of our coffee shop. They oversee staff, ensure excellent customer service, handle ordering/inventory, organize, and track financial records to increase profitability and customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
- Hire and onboard new staff and baristas
- Train employees on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies
- Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses
- Add new menu items based on seasonality
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation
Requirements/Skills:
- Work experience as a barista
- Work experience as a manager a plus
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines
- Good math skills
- Availability to work within operating hours (including weekends and holidays)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- Excellent customer service
- Positive “can do” attitude
- Knowledge of inventory management and financial tracking
