TITLE: Stewarding Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Executive Steward/Chief Steward

DEPARTMENT: Stewarding > Culinary > Food & Beverage

GENERAL PURPOSE: Supervision of staff; Accountability for cleanliness & maintenance of all F&B equipment and area cleanliness in the heart of house.

Reporting to the Executive Steward, the Stewarding Supervisor leads and coordinates all activities and provides assistance to the staff of the stewarding department, to ensure all established service standards and procedures of the hotel & restaurant(s) are implemented consistently, leading to guest & staff satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Include the following, but are not limited to)

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining high sanitation standards in all food preparation area
  • Responsible for the Maintenance and the cleanest of all F&B service and Kitchen Equipment
  • Responsible for guiding the all subalterns staff and in the performance of their jobs in accordance to Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for achieving financial goals, by minimizing costs without compromise in Hygienic condition.
  • Responsible for implementing the Policies and Procedures in operating the Stewarding Department
  • Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating equipment and cleaning supplies for the operation.
  • Responsible for the administration, operation and coordination of the Stewarding Department in absence of the chief steward
  • Responsible for providing functional assistance to operation during peak periods and functions.
  • Responsible to keep F&B equipment inventory book up to date.
  • Responsible to maintain all F&B area free of pest at all time
  • Responsible for administration and the disposal of the wasteQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 2 years of prior stewarding, dishwashing, housekeeping or food & beverage experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language (both written & verbal) is required. In addition, advanced proficiency in the Spanish language (both written & verbal) is desired.
  • Must be able to multitask while prioritizing work assignments.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to see projects from start to finish in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must have an understanding and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to remain calm and courteous in high stress and demanding situations.
  • Must have excellent vision for typing, computer use, filing, etc. including the ability to see objects and people at a distance.
  • Must have good hearing for telephone inquiries and guest communication.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to engage in repeated bending and stooping as required.
  • Must be able to access and use computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.Hours: Full-time
