Job Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

  • Monitor, supervise, and maneuver various members of the housekeeping staff.
  • Assist room attendants when needed with any of their assignments.
  • Main focus on details and luxury elements, following the Auberge service standard.
  • Training on the luxury standards of The Lodge at Blue Sky.
  • Responsible for the turndown service during the evening shift.
  • Monitoring the entire property, with other supervisors/managers, to ensure no items are missing/dirty/need repair.
  • Report any maintenance issues promptly in accordance with departmental and hotel standards.
  • Have a knowledge of housekeeping policies and procedures, and hold staff members to those policies.
  • Keep the team on track to complete daily/weekly assignments.
  • Run reports via Alice to track the productivity of team.
  • Maintain respect for guest confidentiality and personal items.
  • Engage each guest with a smile and appropriate greeting, using the guest’s name whenever appropriate.  Graciously accommodate guest requests.

Be an extension, in all manners, of management.Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Auberge program

  • Make suggestions for improvement in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenue and cost reduction.
  • Communicate and be an ambassador of all core values/messages associated with The Lodge at Blue Sky.
  • Perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year’s experience in hotel housekeeping or similar position.
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.

SKILLS Required

  •  Ability to speak in English with guests, co-workers and managers. Spanish language would be desirable.
  • Ability to read labels, instructions, and checklists.
  • Ability to manage technological equipment and applications such as Opera, Alice and google apps.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.   Have frequent needs to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision requirements: constant need to view small print.  Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
  • Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
